The award was given in recognition of the tremendous value brought to the aviation industry by the SriLankan Aviation College through its unwavering dedication towards training and developing skilled personnel.

This recognition identifies SriLankan Aviation College as a center of excellence for training by demonstrating professionalism in delivering IATA Training Programs and commitment to student success.
Over a decade, SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC) has been a leader in grooming aspirant aviation professionals through its IATA accredited training programmes. SLAC became an IATA accredited training centre (ATC) in the year 2008 and gained IATA Regional Training Partner (RTP) status in 2014. Over the years, SLAC has won many IATA awards for its excellence and commitment to training.

The International Air Transportation Association (IATA) names SriLankan Airlines’ International Aviation Academy (IAA) as one of its ten best Authorised Training Centres (ATC) in South Asia, for 2012. The award is a formidable endorsement of the outstanding contribution by IAA in developing human capital for tomorrow’s air transport industry and related sectors.
The award was based on IAAs strategic direction and progress, quality of delivery, and end result on an overall high aggregate of 90 per cent.
